Welcome to our family blog where we keep you up-to-date with our boys and even throw in some news about the big kids, too!

Catching Up!

It's not that we have a boring life and nothing to post, but it's been so busy for us since the new year started, I haven't had time to keep up! Sooo, that said, I'm going to post a few pics that I've taken the last few weeks to just keep the blog current and share our boys! Landon is getting so big and nearly 16 months and Logan will be 10 in 3 weeks! We love to see how the boys interact and also how they are shaping their attitudes towards each other already!

Logan isn't in sports right now, so keeping him busy has been a treat! He will start swimming again, then track and baseball before he heads to his dad's this summer! Busy spring, but we wouldn't have it any other way! He still enjoys going to movies, buying Star Wars Lego sets and Simpson's comic books! He's looking forward to his 'Super Bowl' birthday party with family the end of February and a party with friends as well!

Landon continues to shine his little personality through! He's pretty stubborn right now, but is a total snuggler! He has managed to have his first ear infection and now pink eye in the last 3 weeks, but nothing except a cold since birth! Healthy guy, loves to say words you ask him to repeat, digs in the 'storage' drawer, eats anything we feed him and still doesn't sleep through the night! He was great for about 2 weeks in January, not so much these days! I should qualify that with he sleeps 10 hours, but he wakes up 2 times a night for brief bursts of crying, then back to sleep! Oh well, he'll get it figured out yet!

Night out!

Jesse's sister offered to watch the boys (she needed her nephew fix she said), so we made it a date night for us! For a gal who loves sports, a beverage and time away from the kids, this was a perfect night! We ventured out for some eats prior to the Timberwolves game. We have been season ticket holders for a couple of years, but it is hard to head to games as they are rebuilding and well, they are bad! Lucky for us, they beat LA that night and rounded out a great night for us! When we got home, our nieces, Hailey and Molly, were fast asleep and then there is Logan's attempt to 'sleep' as well! Thanks B for watching the kids!

Snowboard Club

Logan started Snowboard Club through his elementary school in January and enjoyed another season of winter sports! He tells me snowboarding is more fun than skiing, because 'you can do bigger tricks and bomb the slops"! Ok, Logan! He does have to take ski lessons so he can do both, but am excited that he's enjoying getting some of his winter energy out of his system a few nights this month! This picture made me laugh...the goggles were HUGE on him, but fit perfectly per the instructors! OK, so we bought 'em! Not sure I'll ever hit the slopes thanks to my 5 knee surgeries, but I sure enjoy watching others while enjoying the toasty warm lodge!

Extended Holidays!

We were finally able to get to my parent's house in South Dakota for a weekend of lounging, visiting and Christmas! How lucky are we that we get to extend the holiday and hang with the family! We left on Friday after work and before we were even on the road about 20 minutes, Landon was already asleep! He did well on the trip out and wasn't feeling great, so knew that sleep and the time in the car would do him well! On Saturday, we figured out Landon had his first official ear infection - not bad for 15 months old! He's been pretty healthy, so we knew this was something more than a 'virus'! Started the meds and by Sunday he was feeling much better!

You can kind of see in his eyes, he's just not feeling great!

Saturday night we had our family Christmas, minus my sister and her family as they were able to make it to SD prior to the winter storm. It was great to see the kids get lots of great things off their wish list! Everyone was so excited and it's always great to find something for mom and dad that they don't actually already have! My big surprise was a TX Longhorns hoodie! My parents totally surprised me and that's pretty hard to do! YEAH! Too bad they didn't win the Championship, but they'll be back!

Logan and Noah are into Star Wars and made a haul!

Some of the peeps checking out the gifts!

Landon is obsessed with cans, so he pretends to drink!

I love the Longhorns!

Having some laughs with Daddy!

On Monday we had to head back to reality. The drive went well and it felt great to get back to routine! We were so excited the boys got to see their cousins and we were able to celebrate each other as well!

Impact Day!

The Junior League started 2010 off with a great opportunity to make an 'impact'! We held an Impact Day at Arc's Value Village Thrift Store in Richfield which helps to "maximize the proceeds generated which in turn provide programs and services that help people in the community with developmental disabilities and their families". The JLM women helped to organize the intake items, tidy up the sales floor, pack up the seasonal items, put more clothing out on the racks and anywhere else they needed us! Knowing that this would be a great opportunity for Logan to see what I do at all these events, I invited him along. He was thrilled to help and loved all the attention from the women (hah)! I also think it's a great opportunity for him to get in some volunteer experience and see that he will get more in return knowing he helped impact a community vs. spending his time watching TV, playing w/his toys, etc. What a great way to spend our Saturday afternoon, knowing we did 2 1/2 days worth of work in about 2 hours! YEAH JLM!

Tickle Tickle!

Landon has really started talking and mimicking all the things we say, so it's been fun to actually figure out he's conversing with us (sometimes) and also finding his little voice and testing the waters! He loves to say 'mow'=Lulu, no, a'done, do it, splash, moo=milk and lots of what we think are words! He has also started to really want to do things himself - feeding, putting on pants, socks, shoes, etc. I'm too impatient right now and usually in a rush, so maybe a few months from now I'll be ready to take the time to teach him! Anyway, tonight at dinner, he was just a chatter box and lucky for me, I caught it on tape!

Happy New Year!

Wow, is it really another year down!? Where did the time go, but what a great year we've had! We have a lot to be thankful for (both wants and needs) and look forward to what 2010 has in store for us! It's a bitter sweet holiday for me in several ways. I lost a dear friend and watched 2 others slowly heal after a serious car accident on NYE and also lost 2 dear ladies in my life, Gma Dorothy and Gma Inga - years apart, but all on NYE! While you always continue to heal, you also find comfort when people remember!

As 2009 drew to a close, I felt like venturing over to our friends to ring in the new year! The Ward's threw a great little party with crazy yummy food, beverages and a great group of friends to share the final hours of the old and ring in the new! Let's remember, we have kids 4 months apart in age, so it wasn't what Geri and I would consider our 'normal' bash! When I think about it, this was actually out of our NEW 'normal' now that diapers, slinging food and sleepless nights rule our lives! Regardless, with great friends and champagne in hand, we all managed to ring in the new year with cheers for a wonderful new year!

Let me out of this place! Both boys were lickin' the gate...mmmm!

Bitter sweet!

Landon and Logan are such good friends and at a perfect age that Logan can play and not be annoyed by Landon and Landon thinks Logan is where it's at! Today, Logan left with his Nana and Papa Rosendahl to go spend a week with his dad and stepmom! He was so excited to get there and asked why he wasn't flying, so I told him that it's time spent with his grandparents that he'll look back and be thankful for as he gets older! Off he went ready to take on the 7 hour drive and enjoy a week as an 'only child' again! He had a great time and loved the fact that he could use his cell phone anytime to call me, Jesse and add his friends in IL to the contact list! Such a lucky kid! The picture below is the one I took of Landon watching Logan leave...see, bitter sweet!
